Frequently asked questions.
How long does the legal guarantee last?
On new goods it lasts 24 months from delivery. The defect must be reported to the seller within 2 months of discovery.
Do used products have a warranty?
Yes, the legal guarantee also applies to used items: for second-hand goods, however, the duration may be reduced to a minimum of 12 months, if agreed.
Are products on sale or on promotion covered?
Yes. Sales, discounts and promotions do not reduce the legal guarantee: it applies exactly as for a full-price product.
Are software and digital content covered?
Yes. Under the new Italian Consumer Code (from 2022), digital goods and content are also covered by the warranty, including the obligation to provide the necessary updates.
What is the difference between a legal guarantee and a commercial guarantee?
The legal guarantee is your right (24 months, borne by the seller). The commercial guarantee is an additional, voluntary offer from the manufacturer or seller, with its own duration and conditions.
What document do you need to enforce the warranty?
Any proof of purchase will do: a till receipt, an invoice, a receipt, or even a photo of the receipt. With Garanteasy you store it and find it again when you need it.
Are you a shopkeeper, an e-commerce or a manufacturer?
